Teenage Dirtbag 歌曲簡介

"Teenage Dirtbag" 是來自紐約的樂團 Wheatus 在 2000 年發行的同名專輯 Wheatus 的主打單曲，也是該樂團最著名的歌，由樂團主唱和吉他手 Brendan B. Brown 創作。這首歌在澳洲非常成功，登上排名第一長達四週，並獲得三白金認證，以及 2000 年第二暢銷單曲。它在奧地利和佛蘭德斯也登上排名第一，同時在愛爾蘭、德國和英國登上排名第二，並於 2024 年獲得英國四白金認證。截至 2014 年全球銷售量達 500 萬張。

Teenage Dirtbag 的創作背景

這首歌的創作背景是根據 Brendan 住在長島 ( Long Island) 時的童年記憶。

在 1984 年時 (當時 Brendan 10 歲)，發生了一起震驚社會的青少年殺人事件，犯案人是名叫 Ricky Kasso 的青少年 (外號 Acid King)，涉及吸毒、邪教、撒旦崇拜思想等，他犯案過程非常血腥暴力，根據資料，他對 17 歲的朋友 (Gary Lauwers) 進行儀式虐待 (ritual abuse) ，向他刺了 17 到 36 刀，眼球也被挖出，甚至要他說出「我愛撒旦」(Say you love Satan)。

這起事件引起美國社會恐慌，而當時美國社會正經歷一段 "Satanic Panic" (撒旦恐慌) 時期，人們對於撒旦崇拜的行為感到恐懼，Ricky Kasso 的事件被認為和撒旦邪教脫不了關係，而且因為他被捕當下穿著 AC/DC 的 t-shirt，並且他是 Black Sabbath (黑色安息日)、 Judas Priest (猶大祭司) 和 Ozzy Osbourne (Black Sabbath 主唱) 的粉絲，人們因此將此事件和重金屬樂團做連結，認為重金屬樂團隊青少年帶來不好的影響，會傳遞撒旦思想。

而當時的 Brendan 因為喜愛聽重金屬樂團，包括: AC/DC、Iron Maiden (歌詞裡提到) 以及 Metallica，而被其他家長、學校老師和警察認為他是「撒旦崇拜者」(雖然大人會擔心事出有因，但他只是單純愛聽重金屬，而且那些樂團也未必是傳遞負面思想的主因吧)，因為這樣的經驗 Brendan 創作出了這首 "Teenage Dirtbag"。

Brendan 曾說歌詞: "I'm just a teenage dirtbag" (我只是個青少年廢物) 是回應當時曲解他的人，他說 "Yeah, fuck you if you don't like it. Just because I like AC/DC doesn't mean I'm a devil worshipper, and you're an idiot." (只因為我喜歡AC/DC不代表我崇拜惡魔)。
